## Speeds up to 30Mbps (download)/1000kbps (upload) are available in selected areas of Melbourne and Sydney when downloading from capable sites or across multiple sites. Other areas have speeds up to 17Mbps/256kbps. BigPond Broadband Cable is not available in all areas. Speeds are based on Telstra tests using an Ethernet connection from a site located within a member's state and Telstra's network. The actual speed for a member may be slower and varies due to many factors including plan selected, member location, method of data transmission (protocol), internet traffic, capacity and popularity of websites, modem and computer hardware used and software configuration. Motorola SB4100/SB4200 modems are not compatible with the higher speeds on BigPond Cable Extreme. Customers using these modems will need to purchase a new modem by calling BigPond Activations on 13 POND (13 7663). For customers using a Wi-Fi modem, the actual download speed will be slower than our top speeds, but customers can still achieve superfast broadband speeds.
